Exploring the fabric of our stories one character at a time.

It is that time of year to be celebrate you

It is just two days away from the Christmas holiday here. A time filled with family and friends. Sending love to loved ones we have not seen or spoken to for so long. Some of us may be adding extra volunteering time so help the too many in our world that do not have enough food on the table. Or we are the many missing loved ones that cannot join us for the holiday and those that have passed on too early in life.

Stressful time

The holidays can also be a very stressful time. For me, I was juggling 2 trips (California and Idaho), school, work, and making sure all my loved ones have gifts I want to give them. I was able to take some time to spend with my parents as they continue the daily battle in life before heading out to spend the holiday in the snow. Trying to find the time to recenter my mind through all the tasks, events, and challenges of the holidays was proving to be more and more difficult.

Maybe you have out of town family arriving, or you too are traveling for the holiday. How about those that have new family members, and those that have lost members. Whatever your stress this holiday season, remember it is still a time to be merry. A time to see life through a child’s eye at the wonder of the twinkling lights. Or watch the snow fall gathering in the trees. If you live near the beach, it is also a time of celebration to share with all those in your life that you care about (and sometimes those you don’t.)

Celebrate you

But at the root of the season, it is a time to realize that through all of the hectic, challenging, and stressful times, it is a simple time of the year. Because it is about love, peace, and even wishes. Not just for others, but love, peace and wishes you have for yourself. It is a time to celebrate you, to cherish you, to love you. Finally, it is a time to be you. Remember to always care about yourself. Think about yourself and show yourself the love you deserve.

For all of you celebrating a holiday of your culture this season, I wish you a joyful time to enjoy your loved ones, and to celebrate you.

With great warmth.
