My husband is getting ready for a race this week. Just a month ago he was excited with a little nervousness. He was bright-eyed about the chance to get out on the dirt and do what he has dreamed of doing.  But as the days got closer, the anxiety built up. And now we are only a day away from the race itself and he is wound up. All he needs now is to use his anxiety in a positive way and enjoy his race. Just one way anxiety can be good.

The Good

Most of the time anxiety can be overwhelming and even stop us from experiencing something good in life. Just a week ago, I was faced with an opportunity. An opportunity that I thought I was not the right fit for. I allowed my anxiety to dictate what I could and couldn’t do. It took a little encouragement from someone close to me, and I went for it. And now that opportunity may be mine.

The Not So Easy

It is all too easy to get into our heads and think that we are not good enough. Or allow some unkind words filter through our minds. But you can use that anxiety and turn it into strength. Build on the power behind it and show the world that it cannot stop you. And prove to yourself that you are indeed perfect enough.

This is going to be a short post today, because I need to go help him get ready. But I want to make this point; you are always the one in control. We will always be faced with things that scare us. Events in life that try to take us down. But the only one that can make the change, is you. You are strong enough. Powerful enough. Know your worth and realize that you are special.
