Exploring the fabric of our stories one character at a time.

When we go through our days and we feel happy about something or sad about another, it is not always only one reason for that feeling. And it is very easy to switch between emotions quickly. So, when someone asks you, “how are you?” It can turn into a difficult question to answer. Because in one day, it is not just one emotion. Not just one reason.

Simple Moments

I have a lot going on in my life. I honestly do not remember a time when I didn’t. Starting with menopause, my emotions are being affected by my hormones. I can be doing just fine and managing my day one moment. The next I can be in tears and not know why. On top of that, the stress from work and homelife add to my day. It could take one simple phone call to make me laugh and smile with a day full of tears.

How easy it is to mask and hide the deep feeling of depression from others.

Emotions are strong. They can direct how you handle your day. Ever notice how some days seem easier to manage when you are happier? And a similar day seems to feel like it drags on when you are sad or stressed out? Emotions play a big part in our lives. How we manage our emotions gives way to days that may be easier to handle. But when we look at the source, there is never just one reason. So, we need to hold onto those moments that bring us joy. It makes us smile, even if for a minute. Those are the strongest moments of our lives. Times that we can use against darkness and keep our mind bright.
