Life can come at us very hard sometimes. Throwing curveballs in our days any chance it can. A project going perfect until one small change and then suddenly everything is on the line. Relationships moving in a loving way, until one phone call, one chance encounter. Then suddenly questions build, and confusion is all that remains. No matter who you are, there will be a day that tests your mind. Do you have outlets that you can use to ease the stress?
The Outlet
We all need a form of outlet in our lives to ease the stress of life. Something thar can offer each of us a chance to turn our minds off for a period of time and decompress. Outlets can be in forms of various things like hobbies or exercise. One must be careful to not develop an outlet that can cause additional harm. It is too easy to find peace in our outlets and create that haven. It is when we begin to use the outlets too much in our lives, that problems can start.
The Option
Exercise and yoga, taking a walk or go for a hike. The physical exertion not only gives us positive enforcement in taking care of our bodies, but the mind can find its own balance too. It comes from the constant focus of the movements we are creating, the environment we are enjoying, and the dedication to the task in front of us. The mind can only focus on one thing at a time. Use of physical movement becomes the primary focus. Can your mind continue to dwell on your stress? Yes, but you will find that thoughts become clearer and fewer, allowing for a sharper thought process to develop.
The Fun
Hobbies can be a fun outlet. Depending on the hobby, bringing in actions and focus to fun and exciting tasks pulls away from the everyday stress plaguing our days. Hobbies can include options like photography, painting, creating various arts, or even just creating art in various objects like wood working, metal art and other forms. Working with your hands to create unique inspirations directing thoughts into a more positive atmosphere.
The Relax
There are some people, like me, that use music as their outlet. I will use listening to music to quiet the noise in my mind. As an overthinker, music can drown out the voices and questions that run rampant in my head. One event can create close to 100 thoughts and questions, making it nearly impossible to concentrate on anything else. I can listen to the lyrics of the song as it pulls my mind and thoughts to their meaning. Hearing the beats and melodies pulling my own emotions together. There are those people that have the fantastic talent of making music. Able to put their own thoughts into a song. Expressing to the world their own feelings.
Another option is writing. This too is one of my outlets. I find that writing out my thoughts, feelings, and expressions, gives them a release that I need. I can pull out the unnecessary information that is clouding my mind and draw into the important information I need. Using journals in physical or electronic form, or just using a note here or there gives us a medium of expression and a release of stress.
The Part of Life
Outlets are a vital part of our life. Without them, stress can build and, in some cases, destroy. Stress comes at us every day. If we have healthy outlets, we can get through anything. Please, be careful with outlets of drinking and other “hobbies” that can potentially cause harm. We all want to find healthy options in life. Too many of our friends and family are losing to hobbies that may offer immediate relief but harm their bodies in other ways. I love all my readers and I want to see everyone be able to wake in the morning and have that chance to make their story any way they want.
With great warmth,
