How you see yourself

I purchased a really cool journal for myself called “Love This F*cking Journey for me” by D.A. Sarac. The beginning section of the journal has you reflecting on your past and what you would say to the younger you. But then, I got stuck. Because I ended up on the page that focuses on me now. It is an image of a watering can and water drops down to a small plant. The object of the page is to fill in the water drops with all of the adjectives you would use to describe yourself. Outside view of my life …

Too much in life making you numb

You ever get those days that it feels like everything is coming down on you? So much going on at work, too much at school, overwhelming family life, and then add relationships on top of all of that. Too many thoughts. Way too many feelings. And all you can do is take one step in front of the other like a robot through your life. You suddenly feel numb. Not really sad, or happy, or even…well anything. Just a robot I’ve had too many robotic days in my life. Each day blended into the other. Thoughts in my head swarmed …

Just Beginning My New Chapter in Life

It only takes a second to change your life. The end of a relationship. Loss of a loved one. The departure of a special friend. This person, that has spent time in your life to help you, love you, grow with you is no longer in your life. Through some time to process the loss, when the sun comes up that next day, how will you view the next phase of your life? Hopefully, as the beginning of a new chapter. Am I really happy with my life?

In my classes for my masters, we briefly talked about the 8 Dimensions of Wellness that covered the financial, emotional, environmental, physical, occupational, spiritual, intellectual, and social elements in our lives that we can improve or define to balance our personal wellness. I spoke about these dimensions in previous posts. But my professor asked about another one that is similar that broke it out into 10 areas instead of 8. Each area was a part of life. Each small step of life that leads to a happier wellbeing. Thinking about life This got me to thinking. Am I really happy …

It is beautiful to be you

Last week I mentioned about how life can change in a split second. That goes for our own mind frame. What I am talking about is that in a split second we can go from feeling good to immediately feeling bad. Or vice versa go from feeling bad about ourselves to suddenly feeling good. I bring this up because recently I had kind of an epiphany in my life. I had someone I didn’t know and I had a dear friend of mine, tell me that I was very beautiful and anyone who had me in their life was lucky. …

It takes only one second to change life

You are sitting there reading this and in this very second, someone’s life has changed forever. We have all heard the phrases, “life is short” and “life can change in an instant”. So many times, we are told to live life to the fullest, to call your family before it is too late, and don’t worry the small stuff because life is too short to waste. Let me ask you, how many of you follow these suggestions? Do you call and visit family you as much as you can, or has it been “maybe” once or twice a year? How …

Can you speak through music

Do you have a friend or loved one that is shutting down from the world, starting to show signs of depression? When you ask them if there is anything wrong or if they are okay, you barely get any answer or just, “I’m fine”? Almost like there are too many emotions running through that they begin to get numb to the outside world. You want to help them, but don’t know where to start. Because you know and can plainly see, they are definitely not fine. Use Music Here is a suggestion, use music. Think about it. How many times …

How do you like to be comforted?

I have been talking about reaching out to your loved ones and making sure they know you care. Even discussed about ways to care for yourself. But how about ways to comfort those that are struggling? What is comfort and how do you comfort your friends? Comforting a friend Your best friend comes to you crying because her boyfriend just broke up with her while degrading her. How can you help a friend if you hurt?

Lately I have had a heavy load of emotions in my life. Like a rollercoaster going through endless loops. One minute I am happy or relaxed, then suddenly I am fighting depression, sadness, and hurt. I have a few people in my life that I can reach out to, but there is always one thought that tends to stop me. “I don’t want to bother them with my problems.” There is something else that happens. My friends have their own lives and ups and downs. They know they can come to me at any time. But they don’t always reach …

What is your outlet in life?

We all have stress. Everyone has times of happiness and times of sadness. We all show our emotions in some form, whether out in the open or in little ways. But how are we coping through this stress? What do we have in our life that gives us the reprieve we need from the thoughts in our head? You know the ones. Those voices that are making all the racket and keeping us from focusing on ourselves and our loved ones. Voices You just received news that leaves you speechless. Your mind goes blank, and you don’t know how to …
