Every day we try to use it. Some succeed in using it the best way. Others tend to use it selfishly. Something we all have and do not use very well. Our voice. How difficult it can be for us to come out and actually say what we want. For too many people, using our voice is frightening. Others, using it is liberating. But for me, my it is unfamiliar.

Learn
I cannot remember how to use my voice, but I am learning. Too many years have I kept silent that I should have been using. Didn’t want to “rock the boat” or I would just “choose my battles”. Kept hidden and let others have be louder, just to keep the peace. Much too long of being silent.
Now when I am faced with a moment to use my voice, I panic. My mind shuts down and I don’t have a thought left. My voice stutters and suddenly, I am quiet again. It wasn’t until recently that I realized what was happening. I would be faced with a decision or a question to answer that required me to use my true voice. And I would drop right into a panic attack and go blank.

How
Using your voice is setting your boundaries. Holding to what you believe in and staying true to yourself. But also, it is about believing in yourself. Fighting for what makes you truly happy. Even if it means there are consequences. The power of your voice changes lives. So, fight for it.
Everyone has courage. We all have strength. There is power that we all hold. And all it takes is using our voice. You do not like something, say so. Don’t allow someone to dictate how your life should be. Set your boundaries for how you want to be treated. Express to your friends that you want to be cared about. And most importantly, do not be afraid to say ‘no’.

With Power
Your voice is your sword. Used properly, you can battle your demons you fight daily. It can pull in the most trusted support and cut down the darkest foe. Don’t be afraid to use your voice. Ask for help. Set your boundaries. And believe in yourself. You will find happiness.
