Up or down, left or right. Are you happy or sad? Is it dark or bright? There are 24 hours in one day. That is 24 hours to do everything you can to find happiness. But no true happiness can be found unless you have balance in your life. A way to manage the negativity in your life to enjoy the positive. It won’t take much for life to tip the scales in any one direction.

One Sided
I lost count of how many times I felt undeserving. Like parties and groups that have raffles, I never win. Rewards and promotions that are given to colleagues and I sit back just smiling. After a while you just feel like you never get anything good. Nothing good happens to you. So why even try. Life is always going to test you. Not much you can do about that. All you can do is choose how you will allow it to affect you. You have the power to change the game.

In Charge
Remember that we have 24 hours in one day. In those 24 hours, we have sleep, eating, working, and learning. And in those minutes, we have people, personalities, and emotions. We are faced with trauma and choices. Trying to care for others and trying to care about ourselves. But it all comes down to us. We choose how to handle the stress…well kind of. Because even if you feel you are handling it well, your body is still absorbing the stress. Ultimately, we are in charge of our lives. The choices we make guide our stories. Life will try to change it, but we have control.

Balancing Act
Life is a balancing act. One day is good. You get rewards or acknowledgement. Then the next seems like a struggle. My son once commented how he wished everyday would be a great day. But that is impossible, isn’t it? How can you acknowledge a good day without having a bad day to compare? We need challenges in our lives to remind us to keep moving forward. Distractions and hurdles to face to remind us that we are strong and powerful. We need to balance the stress in our lives and keep the control. Without it, then the scales tip too far, and a life…well, I don’t want to think about that.
It’s time to stand tall. Hold onto your support and take that step forward. Know that whatever rock, pebble, or boulder may be in front of you, there is a way to the other side. Balance the minutes of your life to cherish the good times as you push through the hard ones. Remember that you have people in your life that care about you. And that includes me.
