I have learned a little more about myself recently. I am finding lately that my actions in similar situations are changing. What I mean is that I used to react in a certain way in a common situation. But now I have found myself reacting differently. And its simple, I’m tired. I have faced this life for so long that I am tired. Pushed myself to keep the peace, to keep quiet, to hide. I don’t have the energy anymore. The bigger problem, I don’t have the energy to do much about it either.

Constant
We all know life throws anything and everything it can at us. Stresses from work, home, school, health. It feels like every time we turn around, bam! There is another stress right in front of us. And we are strong to start, but we wear down. Like a stone in a stream, over time, the dirt and rock get worn down. The constant pushing, washing, grinding of the water and debris over the rocks. Before you know it, that rock is smaller. But it is also, polished and beautiful.
I have told my son that life tries to chip away at you. The environment, other kids, teachers, and other adults. But I will always be there to guide him. To mold and steer him through life as best as I can. To watch him polish into a strong young man. I will be there to wash away the tears and mend the scrapes. To show him how strong he truly is within.

Change
I once considered myself to be this quiet, meek girl. That I was an over-emotional person that wears her heart on her sleeve. I was shy around everyone. Naïve to the world. Then over time and a lot of stress along with it, I have grown up and changed. How I once felt, reacted, and experienced, is now different. And as I look back over my life, I can begin to see the strength I held. Seeing who I was and where I have come. Time never stops, so neither can I. As long as I keep growing, I will make it.
