Something is burning inside ready to break free. A need. Need to prove, to show that accomplishment. A desire. One so strong that nothing can hold it back. It pushes and guides through tough terrain and dodges obstacles just to get to the finish line. Hungry for power and acceptance. It is a drive worth like no other. A drive to get one person through it all.
DRIVE TODAY?
So many times, I can remember waking up and not wanting to move. No energy, no goal in sight, pushing me to want to do anything. Those days I would rather stay in bed and pull the covers over than step outside into the fresh air. No desire to experience the day set forth in front of me.
There is a day or so that I am bursting. Busting at the seems to move. Do something that takes the next step in my path. Motivated to keep going and pushing through. With a goal in my mind, I set my steps to reach and plow through.
CHALLENGE FOR A DRIVE
Having a drive to reach the ultimate goal can be so difficult, to many of us. A challenge set forth that we begin to feel the weight pushing down on us. Just to have an ounce of strength, to hold ourselves up and not crumble under the stress of our goal. Drive to carry on so that the finish line can be obtained.
This past year I have been weighed down under the stress of life and work. Take kid to school, go to work, come home and make dinner. Then help with homework, bath and off to bed. Only to wake up and rinse and repeat. Over and over again. No change in scenery. No deviation to the routine. Weekends were just as bad. No time to think, rest my mind and body. The weight was becoming unbearable.
I needed a break. A goal to call my own. I took a look at family life and saw no variation that would work. So, I took a long look at my work life. This I can change.
SCARED TO CHANGE THE DRIVE
Making a change in your life is no easy task. It is scary as all can be. The “what if’s” start crawling by trying to take hold. Trying to block you from doing anything different. Making a change of any magnitude can alter so much that it can be very daunting. Just by going to a different grocery store or not wearing a certain kind of shoes anymore is not easy. Changing a home, or a job is that much harder. Am I doing the right thing? Is it really going to be better?
THE GRASS IS NOT ALWAYS GREENER
Taking that first step to make that change, is tremendous that so many of us overlook that step. So what? I made a call. Who cares that today I decided to go online and see if there is another store out there? You are right in thinking that way. But that first step wouldn’t be possible if you didn’t have the drive to want to make a change. The “want” is really the first step into your drive for a change. Nothing in life will happen if you do not WANT it to happen.
What do I want? I wanted to change my work life to be happier in my home life. My drive through to change became the drive to go back to school. I will be starting college for my Masters this March. This change will bring me a new avenue outside of my current Property Management work life into one of Health and Wellness.
You want to change? Good!
With great warmth,
