Every day we wake up and face the day. Each day we take care of family and friends. We go to school and work. Cooking, cleaning, and making sure everyone is taken care of. There may be times of joy or relaxation. And a constant move to get through the day. Every minute, hour, day, week, and month goes by without hesitation. How we face these moments impact our health. Stress builds up until the damage has been done.

Downfall
Stress can be useful to a person or destructive. Identifying and managing the types of stress offers each person the opportunity to better oneself. For instance, my job is stressful. It is extremely project oriented and very face paced. Yet, this part of my job is exciting to me. I find it a manageable amount of stress that pushes me to stay alert and always do my best.
Unfortunately, there is too much destructive stress in the world. The news, politics, the economy, only offer damaging stress to the world. The constant worry about finances, food, and medication can hurt the body and the mind. Depression and anxiety thrive on situations like this. The fear of not being able to provide for your family is detrimental. Fear and worry can turn a person’s life upside down.

Manageable Stress
Now finding ways to manage stress and face the fear to overcome it, is stressful in itself. Trying to find outlets and support to battle stress is not easy. Yet necessary to build up strength. It takes just a minute to step away and breathe. Using a second to close your eyes and calm the mind can be the one thing saving your mind. Reaching out to your support group allows some of the weight to be lifted from your shoulders.

Stress is a constant in our lives. Finding ways to manage stress will save our lives. Our physical health cannot bear the weight of constant stress. Neither can our mental health. Find yourself an outlet to release the tension. Contact a friend or family from your support group. Don’t allow stress to be the constant burden in your life and use it to build up your health.
